Ginger Lime Fizz

Ginger Lime Fizz

Ginger Lime Fizz is just about the most refreshing thing you could have ice-cold on a hot day. It’s a mocktail that easily mimics beer, so try it on ice or on its own in a pint glass.

It’s a lot like ginger beer, but maybe not quite as spicy. Lime features heavily, but the bitterness is cut by coconut water and agave nectar or coconut sugar, whichever you have on hand. Coconut sugar makes it look more like beer. Agave nectar makes it seem more like a spicy limeade. A note on the coconut water: some brands add coconut flavoring, make sure to choose a brand that does not do this.

Use a microplane grater to grate the ginger. It’s a great tool for mocktails or cocktails.

The ratio is about one half ginger-lime mixture and one half sparkling water. It is really delicious alongside a spicy dish like Southwestern Crustless Quiche, Jalapeño Salmon Chopped Salad, or even Slow Cooker Chili.
